The Assistant Director provides leadership, strategic planning, administration, and day-to-day decision making to deliver a quality experience and ensure the safe and welcoming operation of a comprehensive collegiate fitness and well-being program within the Department of Well-Being & Recreation. Primary responsibilities include the oversight of the Well-Being Program which includes a student-led coaching program, Exercise is Medicine on Campus, Bobcat ArtsCare and additional supportive initiatives, training services, and coordinates a campus-wide referral network.
Additional primary duties include the supervision of fitness outreach services and events, Group Fitness and Personal Training programs, and F45 training. This position will cultivate strategic partnerships with Division, campus, and community constituents to support and advance the department’s mission to foster university-wide well-being. Personnel responsibilities include direct supervision of two graduate assistants, and approximately 50 Fitness and Well-being undergraduate student staff. Lastly, the Assistant Director will work closely with all Department staff and campus partners to create opportunities and communicate feedback to deliver a safe, quality end-user experience with Ohio University.

Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or Science, Public Health, Education or Physical Education, or related field of study (an equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered)
