The School of Kinesiology at Ball State University invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Lecturer of Exercise Science. Candidates with a doctorate may be considered for the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor. This full-time non-tenure-line position is available August 15, 2025, for the academic year.

Duties and Responsibilities: The teaching load is 9 hours or equivalent per academic semester, primarily in undergraduate exercise science. Potential courses include exercise physiology, exercise prescription, fitness assessment, and anatomy, and/or other courses based upon knowledge and expertise. Administrative/Clinical load is 3 semester hours or equivalent including duties such as coordinating internships, supervising Graduate Assistants, and supervising exercise testing. The faculty member will also be expected to perform active engagement in department, college, University, and professional service activities and other related duties as assigned by the School Chair.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a master’s degree in exercise physiology or closely related field from an accredited college or university by time of appointment. Experience in teaching and/or exercise programming is also required.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have an earned doctorate in exercise physiology or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Additional consideration will also be given to applicants who hold a professional certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (Exercise Physiologist [ACSM-EP], or Clinical Exercise Physiologist [ACSM-CEP]), have experience in clinical exercise programs (e.g. cardiac rehabilitation), and experience mentoring or supervising students.
