HR AdministrationJob Summary
The Ergonomics and Wellness Specialist ("Specialist") works under minimal supervision and provides technical expertise, knowledge and independent risk evaluation to Denver Health personnel, including Medical Staff, to reduce risk of injury and promote workplace health and well-being.
Essential Functions:
Ergonomic EvaluationConduct ergonomic evaluations in office, lab, industrial, and health care environments. Meet with employees to review workstation configurations and new ergonomic accessories (e.g., alternative keyboard and mice). Recommend changes to workspaces to promote safety and reduce injury and develop plans to implement and sustain those changes. Educate and coach employees on safe work practices and the injury reporting process. (30%)
Compliance and TrainingAssists in complying with applicable federal and state laws including monitoring and administering compliance and disclosure requirements, developing and delivering EHS/Occupational Health and Safety training, conducting surveys and inspections. (20%)
Data Analysis and ReportingAnalyzes, organizes and summarizes data to understand and extract meaningful insights to evaluate and improve effectiveness of programs and initiatives. Presents data to key stakeholders via various media. (20%)
Program Development and AdministrationAssist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of wellness and health education initiatives and programs by creating and maintaining the annual wellness program calendar of events, developing materials related to topics, collaborating with internal partners to source speakers, and cohost events. These programs include but are not limited to, Well-being Champion program, Healthy Hospital Initiative, Breastfeeding Friendly Employer initiatives, and health/well-being communications and events. (20%)
Fitness Center SupportAssist the Fitness Center Team with administrative duties including membership enrollment/cancellation, assisting with program development (such as group fitness classes, personal training, wellness challenges, special events), and management of vendor partnerships. (10%)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Work Experience:
1-3 years of experience in ergonomics or health/exercise science; health and wellness promotion or related field. Required
Licenses:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of global ergonomic and workplace wellness regulations and standards.
Basic computer skills, with experience in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Able to conduct ergonomic evaluations and provide ergonomic/wellness education.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to gather and organize data from multiple sources.
Ability to plan and implement projects.
May be required to work with or in an environment that contains chemicals or hazardous materials.
Ability to maintain timely response and documentation consistent with program standards.
Ability to work independently and work flexible hours.
Ability to meet deadlines reliably.
Creative problem solving abilities. Ability to act as a self-starter who can plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple activities.
Ability in public speaking and facilitating group, committee meetings.
Involvement in employee organizing and outreach.
