Position Summary: The Exercise Physiologist I is responsible for leading and monitoring ECG monitored and unmonitored, supervised exercise sessions and providing exercise education to outpatients; for participating in marketing, scheduling, and quality management of the Phase II Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Supervised Exercise Therapy Programs; and for participating in the development and strategic plans for MultiCare Health System's Pulse Heart Institute. Work situations are a variety of routine and non-routine functions. Independent decisions are required within daily work routine. This position has extensive contact with patients and family members providing instruction and information. Other contacts include physicians, nursing staff, respiratory staff, nursing management, administration.
Minimum Requirements: Three to six months experience in leading exercise classes and/or or complete a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation internship Basic knowledge and experience in exercise prescription, program planning, supervision, and counseling of people with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelors Degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, exercise science or related field CPR certification Completion ACLS to be completed within 3 months of hire
