The Female Athlete Program is made up of an interdisciplinary clinical care team of physicians, surgeons, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), dietitians, and sports psychology clinicians. We belong to the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance and have a large, interdisciplinary clinical research team.

The fellowship will provide training in diagnosing, treating, and comprehensively managing the health of the female athlete. The clinician will become proficient in evaluation of the female athlete triad/relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S), eating disorders, bone health, sports-related endocrine issues, and other female athlete-related sports medicine injuries. The clinician will also have training in male athlete endocrine concerns, issues pertaining to transgender and gender diverse athletes, nutrition evaluations, mental health evaluation and management, and general endocrine and gynecologic care of female athletes.

Clinical research opportunities are available and can be supported by the Program. Fellows will be responsible for completing at least one research project during their fellowship year and must be an active contributor to Program research.
