OCC Surgery Center at Inverness is looking for a Surgical Technologist who can function as an integral member of the surgical team.

Surgical Technologist Responsibilities:

• • Prepare the operating room and provide the necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies to adequately complete surgical procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members
  • Prevent surgical site infections by adhering to the principles of asepsis while maintaining a sterile field
  • Serve as a patient advocate to ensure safe patient care
  • Prevent retained foreign objects by performing appropriate surgical counts
  • Handle specimens according to facility policy and procedures
  • Communicate with surgical team to ensure quality patient care
  • Assist in post-procedure cleaning and preparing the operating room for the next procedure
  • Actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and daily safety huddles
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility

Surgical Technologist Requirements:

• • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current DORA registration
• Preferred (but not required):
  • ASC experience
  • 1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • NBSTSA Surgical Technology Certification
