Salary range, depending on experience $33-42 an hour. Our team provides exceptional patient care for the Orthopedic Centers of Colorado (the largest orthopedics group in the state), including total joint replacement, sports medicine, advanced spine surgery, and robotic-assisted procedures. OCC Surgery Center at Inverness is looking for a Surgical Technologist who can function as an integral member of the surgical team.
Surgical Technologist Responsibilities:
Prepare the operating room and provide the necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies to adequately complete surgical procedures
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members
Prevent surgical site infections by adhering to the principles of asepsis while maintaining a sterile field
Serve as a patient advocate to ensure safe patient care
Prevent retained foreign objects by performing appropriate surgical counts
Handle specimens according to facility policy and procedures
Communicate with surgical team to ensure quality patient care
Assist in post-procedure cleaning and preparing the operating room for the next procedure
Actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and daily safety huddles
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility
Qualifications
Surgical Technologist Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Current BLS certification
Current DORA registration
Preferred (but not required):
ASC experience
1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist
NBSTSA Surgical Technology Certification
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Physically demanding, high-stress environment
Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions
Pushing and pulling heavy objects
Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients and equipment
Manual and finger dexterity
Hand eye coordination
Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs
Corrected vision and hearing to within normal range
