DescriptionSUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: As a part of the health care team, services provided by athletic trainers include primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.'Clinical judgment: Collect and interpret complex patient data; makes clinical judgments based on an immediate grasp of the whole picture; recognizes patterns and trends by focusing on key elements while eliminating extraneous details. Documents and teaches others to document the plan of care; care delivered; and patient/family outcomes.
