SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible to the Coordinator of designated area of Cardiovascular Center for maintaining patient flow, design of exercise parameters and maintenance of overall safety of patient during exercise / testing sessions. Assume an elevated role with instruction of students and new hires and have active participation in a selected special interest project. Serve as a mentor to less experienced staff.
Master of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology and/or other Allied Health related degree required
2 years experience working in a Non-Invasive Cardiology Lab or Cardiac Rehab Facility required
Certification through ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) as Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist or through AACVPR (American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation) as Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional required
CPR / BLS certificate for Health Care Providers required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong attention to detail required
Ability to act quickly and appropriately in an emergency situation
Demonstrates a working knowledge of common cardiac diseases, procedures and devices (i.e. pacemakers, internal defibrillators, etc.) as they relate to exercise
Ability to analyze heart rhythm and hemodynamic changes
Excellent teamwork skills
Able to sit/stand frequently; walk occasionally.
Able to lift 0-10 lbs. constantly; 11-50 lbs. occasionally.
Able to carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-50 lbs. occasionally.
Able to push 0-10 lbs. constantly; 11-20 lbs. frequently; 21-75 lbs. occasionally.
Able to pull 0-20 lbs. frequently; 21-35 lbs. occasionally.
Able to reach constantly.
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
