Applications and nominations are currently being accepted for the position of Chair of the Department of Kinesiology in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions (SPHP). This position is a 12-month appointment and reports directly to the Dean of the School Pharmacy and Health Professions. The Department of Kinesiology is one of six departments in the School.

The Chair is the administrative and academic officer of the department and is responsible for the following:
Curricula and new program development
Administering and monitoring departmental budget
Attending to personnel matter
Providing accreditation leadership
Pursuing service opportunities and grants to support departmental initiatives
Maintaining an effective record of teaching and scholarly activities
Perform other related duties as assigned
Earned doctorate in exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology, sport management or related fields required
The candidate's teaching, scholarship, and service profile must be commensurate with tenure-track appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
Preference will be given to candidates with prior leadership experience and who have demonstrated success in securing competitive grants or fund-raising
Leadership in research will be added advantage for the candidates
Experience and interest in working with diverse student populations is highly desirable
