Certified Athletic Trainer PRN Days

Under the general supervision of a licensed MD, in compliance with legal aspects of patient care, the NATA Guidelines, and according to established policies and procedures, evaluates injuries and develops and administers established treatment plans for injured athletes. In collaboration with the Sports Medicine Program director and the Supervisor of Outpatient Rehabilitation develops sports performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation programs. The athletic trainer will be able to perform the following functions; assessment, treatment, reconditioning, and rehabilitation of injuries as set forth by the NATA Certification (BOC). The athletic trainer will be able to carry out all prescribed treatments and recommendations made by the physician. The ATC will organize and participate in assigned pre-season physicals, game coverage, and related events and duties under the supervision of the Medical Director and Supervisor of Outpatient Rehabilitation. The ATC develops and administers injury prevention and sports performance educational programs to schools, and community recreation centers. The ATC works with the Physical Therapy team to coordinate the rehabilitation of athletes from the school and the community. The ATC will participate in Hospital community events that promote the Sports Medicine service line and that serve to educate the public in the domain of Sports Medicine.
