Assistant or Associate Professor of Applied Physiology
The School of Health Sciences at Salisbury University is accepting applications for a faculty position within the Master of Science in Applied Health Physiology (AHPH) program. This is a full-time tenure-track position.
Area of Specialization: Exercise Physiology, specifically applied exercise physiology as defined by the Committee on Accreditation for Exercise Sciences (CoAES)
Primary Job Duties: Primary responsibilities include teaching AHPH courses, conducting scholarship, and providing service to the school, university, community, and profession. The successful candidate will support the maintenance of CoAES-mediated Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) program accreditation.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D./Ed.D. or ABD in exercise physiology or a closely related field. If ABD, doctoral degree must be completed before employment start date. Before employment start date, American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course completions/certifications.
Preferred Qualifications: American College of Sports Medicine-Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) and/or National Strength and Conditioning-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) certification. Record of effective teaching in the field of exercise physiology, or a closely related discipline. Experience working in an applied and/or clinical physiology setting. A history of program development and/or accreditation is highly desired.
