Doctoral Graduate Assistant in Health and Kinesiology
Exercise Physiology Laboratory – University of Nebraska at Omaha
The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) invites applications for a Doctoral level Graduate Research Assistant. This position will be in the Exercise Physiology Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr. Dustin Slivka. The anticipated start date is July/August 2019. This position includes tuition and stipend for the 4-year Ph.D. program in Exercise Science with a concentration in Exercise Physiology.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The main duties of this position will be to assist and conduct research related to environmental physiology (hot, cold, altitude) and muscle biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with Dr. Slivka and other laboratory team members in conducting all aspects of human subject research including grant preparation, IRB approvals, data collection, data and specimen analysis, and publication.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should have a masters degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field. Experience working with human subjects and incorporating exercise interventions is preferred but not required. In order to be fully considered for this position the candidate must be accepted into the UNO Exercise Science doctoral program.
