The Department of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Sciences at the University of Indianapolis invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Exercise Science. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track faculty appointment beginning August 2019. Offer is contingent upon final approval of funding.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the CAAHEP Exercise Science program, advising and mentoring students completing research projects. Excellent teaching; scholarship leading to dissemination; and service to the Department of Kinesiology and the University are expected. The Exercise Program enrolls approximately 400 undergraduate students, plans to enroll graduate students beginning in the Fall, 2019 and houses two Human Performance Laboratories.
Qualifications: Required: Earned PhD, EdD, or other academic doctorate in a related area. Candidates that are finished by August 2019 will be considered, but confirmation by May 2019 is preferred. Preferred: Previous college/university teaching experience (undergraduate and/or graduate) in clinical exercise physiology, exercise physiology, laboratory assessment in Exercise Science (preferably with ECG experience), research design and methods and experience mentoring student research. ACSM, CSCS or similar certification is also preferred.
