Fort Hays State University invites applications for the position of Professor/Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Health and Human Performance. FHSU is seeking an innovative person to lead the department. This individual should value diversity and be committed to excellence in education; understand the value and roles of traditional and distance learning delivery systems; foster productive relationships between the Department and the College, University, and Community; understand the needs of faculty, staff, and students; and have a willingness to involve faculty in administrative decisions.
Minimum Qualifications: 1) Earned Doctorate in Health and Human Performance or related field; 2) Eligibility for tenure and appointment as associate or full professor; 3) Demonstrated capacity for leadership and program administration; 4) Excellent communication, leadership and team management skills; 5) Budget and program management experience; 6) Familiarity with educational technology; and 7) Successful teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: 1) Familiarity with program approval and accreditation procedures; 2) Involvement in professional organizations; 3) Experience with interdisciplinary programming.
Rank: Associate or Full Professor, based upon qualifications.
