The following is an announcement for candidates for a full-time (10 month academic year) non-tenure-track appointment as Lecturer in Exercise Science to begin September 2019. The initial appointment will be for three years subject to annual performance evaluation and is renewable based on performance and program need.
Responsibilities for this position will include teaching and providing value to the Department, College, and University. Teaching responsibilities entail 12 contact hours (4 classes and/or labs) per semester, and will primarily focus on delivery, development and maintenance, and academic assessment within our Exercise Science curriculum. Contributions to other courses may be possible, depending on need and the person’s area of expertise. A variety of opportunities to provide value exist within the Department, College, and University. Those areas may include, but are not limited to: student academic and career advising, engaging undergraduate students in research, participation in Rider University Health Studies Institute, and/or community outreach. Willingness to work collaboratively with other faculty and to mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures and academic backgrounds is essential.

Candidates must have a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field and experience teaching undergraduate students. Preferred candidates will have a PhD or other terminal degree, a record of outstanding teaching of diverse populations of undergraduates, and clinical and/or post-doctoral experience. Candidates with clinical doctorates will be considered based on the entirety of their professional experience. Professional certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association or American College of Sports Medicine are strongly desired.
