Duties & Responsibilities: This is a full-time, on-campus position. The Exercise Science program is located in the Department of Allied Health. The individual will teach undergraduate courses in the Exercise Science curricula such as nutrition, medical terminology, injury prevention and care, kinesiology and biomechanics, motor learning, evidence-based research concepts, as well as other areas of the program and department as needed. The Exercise Science faculty will participate in student advisement, community engagement/ experiential learning activities, develop and maintain an active research agenda, and provide professional service. Professional certification(s) and membership in professional organization(s) are optional but encouraged. The successful candidate will be expected to provide evidence of teaching excellence in Exercise Science courses at the university level, in addition to scholarly productivity in appropriate disciplines.
Required: A doctoral degree in Exercise Science or a related field (Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Motor Behavior, etc.) is preferred, but an ABD may be considered if the degree will be completed by August 15, 2019. Priority will be given to the expertise areas of kinesiology, motor control, biomechanics and/or motor behavior, however, other applicable areas of expertise will be considered. The candidate should have working experience in the Exercise Science field and have demonstrated effectiveness in teaching classroom and laboratory courses in Exercise Science.
