Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Director Sport & Exercise Science Graduate Program (Ruskin, FL)
Gannon University's Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Sport & Exercise Science Department Graduate Program in Ruskin, FL beginning January 2019. The successful candidate will also serve the department as the Program Director for the Sport & Exercise Science Graduate Program in Ruskin, FL. Also, will work closely with the Graduate Program Director and the Sport & Exercise Science Department Chair located at the Erie campus to lead the academic development and delivery of the graduate program, recruit prospective and support and retain enrolled students, and assist with assessment of program outcomes.
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. (or appropriate terminal degree) in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field and evidence of effective teaching and research experience in higher education. Preferred qualifications include evidence of successful undergraduate and/or graduate student advising and mentoring, evidence of competence in instruction and research in a traditional exercise science laboratory facility, evidence of scholarly activity, and evidence of leadership experience in higher education. Teaching responsibilities include instruction of graduate courses in sport and exercise science training commensurate with the candidate's expertise. The successful candidate will teach courses, advise students, develop and maintain a research program and participate in service activities to support the University, community, and profession.
Candidates must provide evidence of effective teaching methods and scholarship in their respective fields. Qualified candidates will be expected to engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship, and must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
